Establish an Emergency Contact List
You should have the phone numbers for:
- The local fire department
- EMS
- Local hospital.
Write this list down, copy it, and give a copy to everyone on your staff.
You and your staff should be ready to contact the appropriate authorities for potential incidents or accidents. In this planning stage, make sure that you and your staff know how to contact these local providers and ensure that everyone knows what types of situations would be a good reason to call.

While it’s great to know how to contact the police in an emergency, you should avoid giving the police a reason to come to your event. The next section will help you do this.
